Los Angeles Delays Medical Marijuana Ordinance

The Los Angeles City Council delayed the vote on a new ordinance that would severly restrict the number of new medical marijuana dispensaries allowed and closed hundreds of extisting medical cannabis clubs. Planning officials will return with maps showing the actual number of dispensaries that would be closed under the new ordinance. A vote on the new Medical Marijuana ordinance may take place in January.

DEA Arrests Dispensary Owner

First DEA arrest at a medical marijuana dispensary since the Obama administration called for less focus on dispensaries that are complying with state laws. The owner was free on bond from a previous charge of 'conspiracy to distribute marijuana' and was arrested when he tried to open two new dispensaries.
